CATHERINE FOX

Massage Therapist, LMT

Catherine has been in the healing hands industry for over 25 years. She started by studying craniosacral therapy. Using gentle touch, it encourages the cerebral spinal fluid to circulate activating the parasympathetic response creating a deep restorative experience. Her style shifted to work with myofascial tissue, which is an extension of the nervous system. These tissues create proprioception, muscular coordination and allow for increased mobility. Her work improves postural balance, releases chronic pain patterns, as well as heals acute injury. In 2016, she began integrating the study of Chinese meridian theory which balances energy flow.

She lived in California for decades practicing massage therapy and received a doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. In 2020, she moved to Barbados, built an acupuncture practice, and used massage to support her clients. In 2024, she moved back to her home state of Kansas and is excited to be part of the Woodside community.

Philosophy

With an East meets West approach, using her knowledge of Traditional Chinese Medicine and studies of Human Biology at Stanford University, she integrates both aspects of her understanding to her practice. By releasing restricted myofascial tissues, muscles fire properly, allowing for the life force energy, or Chi, to generate great strength as well as healing in her clients.

Mind/Body Balance

Once a world-class athlete, Catherine has always put her mind and heart into everything she does: Olympic swimming, circus arts, Chinese hand-balancing and personal strength training. She understands that to gain health, we must have a balance between strength training and recovery work. Meditation, nutrition, movement and a healing touch are aspects of her lifestyle, and she wants to support others to live their best lives.

Favorite Treatment

Catherine’s favorite service is myofascial release with massage. Being a world class athlete, she is constantly looking for ways to improve her body, create balance, coordination and strength. She loves working with others who want support in order to do the same.
