David started his training career during his time at the University of Kansas while obtaining his degree in Exercise Science. David had the opportunity to coach and intern at the University of Kansas Sports Performance Center, coaching high school and college athletes of multiple sports, and for the current University of Kansas Football Performance staff.

Most notably, David worked as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the United States Army implementing their Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program for the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). While contracting for the government, and with his military background, David was selected as the first Human Performance Coach in H2F program history to deploy TDY and train troops overseas in Estonia and Germany. He was also the first Strength and Conditioning professional to implement H2F for the 2-506th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
