Visit KUCC

As the notion of health and wellness expands into disease prevention, longevity, and advanced medicine, Woodside is broadening our approach. We are proud to partner with The University of Kansas Cancer Center to provide members with a range of prevention and health education tips as a part of our comprehensive offerings.

We believe that having the latest information and insight into cancer prevention and awareness, as well as the best access to support and treatment resources, is an important part of a comprehensive wellness plan. Learn more about this new partnership.

Members will receive the latest science and information from one of the nation’s leading cancer centers, including industry-leading discoveries on preventative health, insight into specific cancers, nutrition education and more.

Cycle for the Cure

Each fall, Woodside hosts a half-day cycle-a-thon on its adult pool deck in a ride to fight cancer. This event brings together people and groups from all over Kansas City to share stories, ride in teams, celebrate and donate to the University of Kansas Cancer Center. To learn how to get involved in this one-of-a-kind event, visit the Cycle for the Cure page.

Nurse Navigator Program

A cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. Members seeking cancer treatment at the KU Cancer Center have access to the Nurse Navigator program, a patient-focused initiative designed to coordinate, communicate and ensure patients are never alone throughout their cancer journey.

Nurse navigators are disease-specific experts in their field and assist referred patients in scheduling needed tests and appointments, gathering medical records and test results, and making all information available to their physician care team.

In addition, they work with the patients to identify and overcome barriers to care such as transportation to treatments, pet care and financial needs by linking the patient with support services. Most importantly, they offer emotional support and education during a challenging time in a patient’s life.
